Opportunities for children
What a wonderful way to close the summer term for the Epsom and Ewell Partnership of Schools Art festival. The more relaxed dual launch meant all the young people, friends and families who came along on the opening night could get up close to their fantastic exhibits. We had tears from several parents overwhelmed at the artistic talent on display! 20 of our schools took part in the exhibition. We sent our thanks to Surrey Arts for their sponsorship. Bourne Hall has asked that we leave a comments book next time as they were inundated with requests to congratulate the young artists.
We look forward to running this event again in 2017.
The launch of the Partnership Moderation Networks took place on the 19th September 2016. A methodology was agreed and top tips on managing the sessions were shared. Colleagues at the launch agreed that effective year group moderation was central to ensuring the following: "...assessment judgements made for any pupil is accurate, fair, comparable with those made of all pupils in the same class and school and consistent with those made in classes in other schools."
A moderation network session will take place once a term for every year group.
Those participating in the NPQML have now commenced their development programme in the partnership training room. 12 schools from the Epsom and Ewell Partnership are working with 7 schools from the North Downs Partnership to undertake this accredited qualification for aspiring middle leaders.
Joint Inset day
12 schools participated in the Epsom and Ewell Partnership of Schools first ever joint inset day with 18 different events happening within the schools in the morning and in the afternoon. 383 staff from across the schools attended CPD events and the day was such a success that the partnership would like to see another joint inset day take place in 2017. Thank you to all those schools who hosted training sessions and who attended training events.
